The Government decided that the passengers of Celebrity Equinox would be only permitted to visit the destinations that are “Travel Approved” by the bubble vaccinated tours and attraction sites. The decision has been taken to secure the health of the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis.

The bubble vaccinated tour or attraction sites that are Travel Approved are those where the cruise passengers can interact with fully vaccinated tour operators.

The General Public has been restricted to go to the Travel Approved bubble vaccinated attraction sites between 6 am to 6 pm. While the cruise would berth in St Kitts

The sites that have been prohibited for the general public:

  • Brimstone Hill Fortress and National Park
  • Carambola Beach Club
  • Caribelle Batik
  • Fairview Great House
  • Palms Court Gardens
  • St. Kitts Scenic Railway
  1. The Government had not allowed cruise passengers walking through the streets of Basseterre independently.
  2. Local tourism employees interacting with cruise passengers are fully vaccinated and have completed the St. Kitts-Nevis ‘Travel Approve‘ training.
  3. Tour Operators are only permitted to transport cruise passengers from the dispatching site directly to the attraction and directly back to the ship after the tour.

In St Kitts and Nevis, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation had closed their Office in Port Zante, Basseterre, due to the arrival of Celebrity Equinox. The Office would remain close on September 14 2021, Tuesday.

The closure of the offices has been called by the Government while supporting the entry of Celebrity Equinox to the island. This decision has been taken to protect the citizens and visitors from getting infected with COVID-19 by coming in contact with each other. This would also facilitate the Government for observance of the health safety protocols.

The public of the island has been directed to contact the Office through telephone at 467-1161.

The Government stated that the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis should cooperate with the new guidelines as the Celebrity Equinox would berth in St Kitts and Nevis.
