The Acting Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffrey Hanley, welcomed ambassadors from several nations for courtesy visits. The Ambassadors of Brazil and Israel, who presented their credentials to Governor General Dame Marcella Liburd on September 17, 2026 met with the Acting Prime Minister of the country on September 18, 2026.
During the meetings with both the leaders, the Acting Prime Minister engaged in discussions regarding opportunities for strengthening the two nations bilateral relations.
Dr Hanley and Ambassador Oren Bar El, who is the Ambassador Designate for Israel, discussed ways of improving cooperation in areas of mutual interest for the two nations. The discussions centered on areas including capacity building, resilience and sustainable development.
While meeting with the Ambassador of Brazil, the Acting Prime Minister discussed the two nation’s potential to collaborate in areas such as education, training, trade, connectivity and broader people-to-people and institutional exchanges.
The meeting served as an opportunity for the two nations to continue discussions on improving the diplomatic ties that have existed between the two nations for more than four decades. They expressed hope for the further strengthening of the relationship between the two nation.
On the eve of the country’s 43rd anniversary of independence, the Acting Prime Minister also met with the Ambassador of the French Republic, Marie-Noëlle Duris, and Dr. Linda Sobeh Ali, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The meetings, similar to the other two meetings highlighted the country’s mandate of strengthening their diplomatic position on the world stage.
The officials have shared that the meetings form part of a series of courtesy calls and diplomatic engagements taking place with representatives of friendly countries during the Federation’s 43rd Anniversary of Independence celebrations.
