The Prime Minster of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew met with the leadership of National Emergency Management Agency. The meeting was part of getting an idea about the country’s preparedness for the first major hurricane of the 2025 Trans-Atlantic Hurricane Season.
The meeting was hosted immediately after the Tropical Storm strengthened into a category one hurricane. As per the most recent update from the NEMA and the St Kitts and Nevis Meteorological Department, St Kitts and Nevis, the federation is not in the immediate path of the hurricane.
However, as of 12:00 PM, Friday, the Meteorological Department issued Hurricane Alert for the people of St Kitts and Nevis. The authorities have urged the people of the country to make sure that the communities are safe during the passage of Hurricane Erin.
