Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis: The Public Works Department of St. Kitts and Nevis is developing a Pothole strategy which focuses on enhancing the maintenance of roads. The main objective of the department is to avoid any serious damages that can lead to cause disruptions resulting in harming the society.

Under this initiative, the department aims to repair a broader area surrounding each pothole in order to improve the longevity and durability of public roadways. The longevity of the roadways will also play a key role in addressing the problems that may occur due to unforeseen situations or circumstances.

The department also emphasised on the benefits that can be undertaken by the citizens with this strategy. As, it will adjacent the weaker sections of the road which will help in reducing risks of accidents and contribute to the overall public safety as a whole.

The measures which will be taken to address the issues of visible potholes and the surrounding deteriorated areas will create steady road surface and enhance the convenience for the people who traverse through it.

Moreover, the government is working on several projects which reflects their unwavering commitment and dedication towards fostering and improving public safety. The St. Peter’s Road Project is the suitable example of it which is currently under construction and the primary objective behind the development of the road is to bring relief to all the motorists and residents of the community.

Prime Minister, Terrance Drew also made his visit to the St. Peter’s construction site and was very happy and pleased with the progress of the work. While shedding light on it, he stated that it would mark a significant step towards enhancing infrastructure of the island nation which will result in ensuring better connectivity for all the citizens of the island nation.

The steps are taken by the government to enhance their work for the infrastructure development which is beneficial for the well-being of the citizens.
