The Police force of St Kitts and Nevis or the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force, have started investigating a fatal shooting incident in St. Paul’s. St. Kitts. The shooting incident under investigation occurred on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. The official sources of the police force have expressed concern over the country’s situation.
The number of crime incidents that have been happening in the country for the last few months have left the people of the country in a state of shock and grief. The people have been expressing their dissatisfaction over the actions of the police force to combat the situation.
Meanwhile, The officials of the St Kitts and Nevis Police Force revealed that the incident is suspected to have happened between 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM. The incident resulted in the death of the victim. The preliminary reports indicate that the victim of the shooting incident was twenty-nine (29)-year-old Jermaine Jules. He was a resident of Grove Village in St Paul’s.
The victim was fired upon by an armed assailant while riding his bicycle on Rawlins Avenue. The deceased victim, Jules was struck multiple times about the body and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Further, the force has started the investigation into the incident. The Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force has announced that the Crime Scene Unit of the Police Force (RSCNPF) made their way to the St Paul’s Community crime scene.
They processed the scene and collected some items of evidential value. The RSCNPF has announced that they would provide the island’s people with regular updates on the investigation’s progress. The updates received by the country’s general public depend on the information’s severity and sensitivity.
Further, the RSCNPF have extended their sincere apologies to all who this incident has negatively impacted. The force has further expressed their condolences to the grieving family and loved ones of the country.
