St. Kitts and Nevis will receive an Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV and Syphilis Validation Certificate next month.
The Validation ceremony, taking place on December 1, will make St. Kitts and Nevis one of the firs English-speaking countries in the OECS, CARICOM and the Americas to receive the commendation.
The Federation will be one of six Caribbean islands being acknowledged on World AIDS Day this year, under the theme “Access to Health”.
Other islands include Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bermuda, Cayman Islands and Montserrat.
The Validation ceremony is only one of the three events being held in St. Kitts and Nevis for World AIDS Day.
UNAIDS, in collaboration with the Pan America Health Organisation (PAHO) and the Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS (PANCAP), will begin the day with a meeting during which the PAHO Prevention Report will be released.
