This week’s crime round-up…
Sean Hendricks of Ottley’s Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of receiving.
Ericson Hanley of West Farm was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of possession of cannabis. He was granted bail for the sum of EC$5,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court.
Peter Daguair of Cotton Ground was fined EC$800, to be paid in one month, or if in default serve three months imprisonment for the offence of possession of cannabis at the Charlestown Magistrate Court, presided over by Her Honour Yasmine Clarke.
Ronell Warner of Mansion Village was convicted for the offences of driving without insurance and driving with an expired licence at the District B Magistrate Court in Dieppe Bay. He was fined EC$300 for each charge.
Police executed a number of search warrants on properties in Lower Thibou Avenue, Conaree, St. Paul’s, Upper Cayon, Pitcairm Street (Newtown), Monkey Hill and Middle Island. A patrol of officers discovered and seized 20 marijuana plants wrapped in a white sheet. The plants were confiscated and taken by police.
A patrol of anti-narcotics unit and SKNADF members have uprooted more than 5,000 marijuana plants in Bellevue Mountain and Sandy Point Mountain.
